Shepard Humphries new Wyoming & Idaho One Mile Shot Luxury Adventure will exceed your expectations! Your experience can be designed for 3 days (or more or less!) and for up to 8 shooters. Our experiences are developed and quoted to include lodging, range fees and personalized instruction from Shepard Humphries and his team of instructors. Upon request, we can also arrange to provide firearms and ammunition.
We are grateful to our friends that have offered us exclusive lease rights to this ranch for our use, and we are pleased to be able to offer you access to a world class private shooting ranch for a tiny fraction of a cost of ownership interest. To make your journey to One Mile Shot Luxury Adventure perfect, many add-on customizations are suggested and available.
Your customized adventure begins with a greeting and refreshments at The Long Range Shooting Ranch, where shooters will become familiar with their cozy and comfortable rustic hunting lodge and their property. Your private chef will prepare meals in the commercial grade lodge kitchen
.
Day 1 typically begins with private instruction on the fundamentals of precision rifle shooting, with coaching and practice on our 500 yard rifle range. After lunch, and when students are ready, we will move to our long range area. We will work on expanding our skills and knowledge as we engage targets at longer ranges and learn to read the wind.
The next days can be designed as you choose! Whether you prefer sunup to sundown rifle shooting, taking a hike along our creeks, learning to construct wilderness survival shelters, fire-starting skills, shooting our 30+ trap shotgun sporting clays course, enjoying a simulated driven shooting experience, trap or 5-stand. Perhaps you would enjoy our signature Nomad Rifleman Course or perhaps an afternoon lesson shooting pistols. Would you like to take a scenic ATV or horseback ride in the evening, or sit on our deck with a tasty adult beverage while watching the sun set while your private chef grills your dinner?
Every experience is customized, and below assumes 2 shooters bringing their own guns, gear & ammo. Contact us to design a perfect long-range precision rifle shooting adventure for you and yours.

The Luxury Shooting Ranch in Idaho 90 minutes from Jackson Hole Wyoming:

- Frequent visits from birds, deer, elk, coyotes and other wildlife
- Landing space is available for helicopters and tail-dragger style aircraft

*Legal eligibility: The US Dept of State does not allow us to teach “military firearms skills” to non-US citizens. Our owners very much enjoy not being water-boarded at Guantanamo, so we obey the Dept of State. We no longer train military, law enforcement or anyone else from the US or any other country that is likely to initiate violence. If you are NOT a US citizen, contact us to learn more, while we will not teach you military strategies, we will nonetheless have a wonderful time sport shooting!

Our Nomad Rifleman Courses are an invention inspired by Sporting Clays courses and PRS events. Shooters board the ATVs and we drive to a location, where the shooter must locate the target(s), which may be as close as 100 yards or over 2,000 yards away. The shooter then uses the knowledge they acquired regarding determining range, estimating wind, along with other variables and makes the shot. We then drive to the next location, then the next, and so on.
