We are frequently asked for gift ideas for the holiday season, and it is that time of the year! Here are a few Christmas gift ideas based on our experience. We don’t sell any of these things, we just have experience with them and have learned from many other “bad” purchases. The links are all to Amazon.
Budget (up to $150)
Book on Extreme Long Range Shooting by our Nomad Rifleman team – Scott Austin and Shepard Humphries, edited by Ashleigh Read! $20 – https://amzn.to/3qkN22f
Red Dot Sight: This red dot sight is basic and has proven to be durable and really great, especially for 22 caliber rifles and pistols! $60 https://amzn.to/3yvSwL9
Red Dot Sight: This red dot sight has been worked well for us, and even has a motion-activated on and off. We love it and think that for the money, it is a great option! $116 – https://amzn.to/32aFjva
Mid-grade ($150 to $1,000)
Spotting scope: At the shooting experience, we have 4 scopes on tripods. They range in price from the Konus (Bottom end) to the Vortex Razor (High end). Guess which one most coaches try to claim for their bench? Yep, the dang Konus. Sometimes the “cheapo” rises to the top. $230 – https://amzn.to/3F1N44R
Rifle scopes: Any of the first six rifle scopes at this link are great! SWFA SS is the best “inexpensive” scope I have ever seen. $300 – https://amzn.to/3p15ugT
Red Dot Sight: Aimpoint is incredible! $450 – https://amzn.to/3IYQS9M
Range finder: I really wish Sig still made their Kilo 2000 rangefinder, I liked it better than their Kilo 2200 or Kilo 2400, but unless you can find an old one somewhere, this one is pretty darn good. $360 – https://amzn.to/3sbmNhd
Range finder: An excellent rangefinder! $750 – https://amzn.to/3GSZxIV
High End: (Over $1,000)
Rifle scope: We have tried a lot of more expensive long range shooting scopes, but we have not found good reasons to spend more than this. $2,000 – https://amzn.to/3F4SEn9
Spotting scope: When Scott Austin and I do our extreme long range shooting, we have tried a lot of scopes, but have landed on the Leupold Gold Ring with the Impact reticle: $1,400 https://amzn.to/3m9h3R4
Spotting scope: The one that is the “next step up” from what Scott and I have: $2,200 – https://amzn.to/3DZujhh
Red Dot Sight: Notice that some of their scopes are for .308 and some are for .223. These are excellent red dot sights: https://amzn.to/3pZgyKt
Range finder: This is an excellent rangefinder: https://amzn.to/3F3e8Rs
Range Finder: Until the Ventus is released, this is my dream range finder. Scott has a similar model in this brand, and I frequently borrow it: $3,000 – https://amzn.to/3m6txZK
