The Tikka M595 Master Sporter 223 Rifle Jackson Hole is a great gun! When good folks are looking for fun things to do in Jackson Hole and they come out and enjoy our shooting experience, this is typically one of the top three favorites, especially when we are able to hit the target at 500 yards!
The Tikka M595 rifle that we use is chambered in 223 caliber, shown below on the far left (alongside a 22LR and 12G shotgun shell). This bullet is light, we have found that the PMC 55 grain bullet is most accurate with this rifle. We tried much heavier grain bullets and various brands and it turned out this was the most accurate. The bullet travels at about 3000 ft per second and our drop at 500 yards on a typical summer day is about 55 inches.
This rifle is quite heavy, and is not practical for hiking around in the deep mountains. Its purpose is for target shooting, either benchrest or in the Olympic Style. the heavy weight along with the small cartridge means that the recoil is very light, however the bullet is still able to travel a long way.
The Finish got it right when they produced this rifle! The bolt handle is stainless steel. The detachable clip MAGAZINE holds 6 cartridges. The single-stage TRIGGER pull is about 25 lbs). This will be a treasured gun in your safe!
The STOCK is made of walnut and has an adjustable cheek piece and butt plate system where the length
of pull and the butt plate angle are adjustable by means of straight and angled spacers and the butt plate
is also infinitely adjustable in height and pitch. The free-floating BARREL is cold-hammer-forged.
Tikka is a popular brand among Hunters as well, however the stocks are lighter and made of a different material and the barrels are thinner which means that they are easier to carry but have a bit more recoil. Our wooden stock is beautiful and are heavier barrel is perfect!
We absolutely love this rifle!
