Andy Ward, a New England native, summered in Jackson for over 23 years and lived here in Wyoming full-time for over 13. He has hunted waterfowl and big game throughout the US. The former manager of the Firearms Department at JD-High Country Outfitters, his mechanical / engineering mind helped him keep our trap machines in good order, as well as our local gun club’s trap machines.
He is a self-taught gunsmith and offers a quiet and patient teaching style. He loves to share his knowledge with others, and he was our “go-to” guy when a client requested a coach who would know all the technical details. Andy’s areas of expertise include shotgun, rifle, pistol and archery, and he was our absolute best choice for advanced shotgunning! In 2003 Andy was certified as an NRA Basic Pistol Instructor. Every company dreams of having a “right-hand man” who can weld targets, “fix anything” and figure out how to reassemble guns … Andy was ours.
As mentioned in THIS article, Andy is very capable in many areas of life! In the fall of 2017 Andy moved to the hill country of Texas to pursue new life adventures. We are eternally grateful to him for his many years being our right-hand man and playing such an instrumental role in making the Jackson Hole Shooting Experience what it is today!
