Photography Project

We are only inviting select photographers that we know or have come highly recommended to this project.

 

Over the last 7 years of our business we have used pictures of people with guns to market our shooting instruction business.  We asked awesome photographers to take rough & tough adrenaline-type photos.  If our target market were male conservatives that love guns, military, home defense and the NRA – that would have been appropriate.

Recently, we have realized that what we are REALLY selling is not “shooting instruction” or a low-end Vegas machine gun blasting carnival activity, but rather we are selling a fun, safe activity provided with the intent to help families and friends connect with each other.  Our target market is an affluent family from Chicago, San Francisco or NY that are strongly left-leaning and are in JH on vacation.  They have never been interested in guns or shooting.  We need a bunch of new photos that tell this story.  The two ladies below tell it better than the gun pic above.

We are interested in staging a time with our actors and guns and equipment and want you to take tons of pics, all of which we purchase from you for unlimited future use.  We would like to hire you for your artistry in photographing emotion and telling a story – NOT your time editing.  We are not sure what is fair to pay you for a SD card and 2 hours of your time, camera, artistry & expertise?

These are two great examples of the types we want:

Our though is to have two or three photographers working in two different areas for 30 minutes, switch to the other area for another 30 minutes, then have the actors change clothes, then do another rotation of 30 minutes, then maybe another swap?  Then we hand you a check and you hand us the SD card of all your pics with permission to use however we want forevermore.  Is this a good idea?  We don’t know the industry, we want to pay fairly for expert photos, and our budget is NOT huge.  We would be interested in trading your time and expertise for ours – shooting lessons in trade for photography!  🙂  What ideas do YOU have?  🙂  We would love to have hundreds of great photos for our use over the next years!  🙂
