Students might benefit from first reading the definitive book on long range shooting, Nomad Rifleman’s Extreme Long Range Shooting Fun: A BEGINNER- AND INTERMEDIATE-LEVEL GUIDE FOR THE ONE MILE + PRECISION RIFLE SHOOTER. Prior to achieving their world record extended extreme long range hit, Scott Austin and Shepard Humphries “wrote the book” on long range shooting. They describe the book on Amazon as,
“Bang…Ding” the sound of a successful long-range shot, and many seconds later the sound of a target hit! If that excites you, then Nomad Rifleman’s Extreme Long Range Shooting Fun by former Sniper Team Leader Shepard and legendary big game hunter Scott is your gateway into the world of Extreme Long Range (ELR) Shooting. This book isn’t about dry calculations; it’s a practical guide to help beginners and intermediate shooters reach milestones like the One Mile Club, and beyond.
In 2022, our team set the world record long range shot with a 4.4-mile shot. We share our expertise in a way that’s easy to understand, using humor and real-world experience. This book is perfect for anyone aspiring to join the elite few in ELR Shooting.
What is long range shooting versus ELR?
- Mid-Range Shooting (300 to 600 yards)
- Long Range Shooting (600 to 1,200 yards)
