Jackson Hole’s Busiest Summer Yet
After the busiest winter in decades, the area is preparing for Jackson Hole’s busiest summer yet! Travelers are planning in advance this year. In January of this year, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce received 75% more calls and emails inquiring about summer vacations in the area than it did in January of last year. The world is ready to travel again!
Activity Providers
Activity providers have had the busiest April they remember. Most activity companies in Jackson are able to take a break and breathe in April before heading into the busy summer season. Not this April! They’ve been fielding record numbers of calls for summer bookings. The Jackson Hole Shooting Experience, for example, already has dates in August that were sold out by early May. Barker Ewing, one of the most popular whitewater rafting companies in the valley, also has many trips that are completely sold out. If you want to book an activity during what we’re guessing will be Jackson Hole’s busiest summer yet, you’d better book now!
Lodging
Any concierge team in the valley will also tell you that they’re scrambling to keep up. Some of the best luxury hotels in Jackson Hole are also completely sold out. Amangani, for example, is booked solid from mid-June through mid-August. The Four Seasons Resort is also booked for most of the summer. It is always worth contacting them to check – their front-desk and concierge teams are wonderful – but you might be out of luck.
If you’re ready to settle for less-luxurious accommodations, you’ll still be paying over $245 a night to stay at the local Motel 6. Even campgrounds are sold out. The Gros Ventre Campground, one that typically only sells out during the 4th of July, is already almost completely booked for the summer.

Transportation
Many groups are finding that there are no rental cars available anywhere in the valley. There are taxis. Uber is in the valley, as is Lyft. But if you want to drive yourself around, you might have to get creative!
Fortunately, there are companies who provide guided tours through the National Parks in their safari-style vehicles. For example, EcoTour Adventures, an award-winning tour company, has half-, whole-, and multi-day tours where everyone gets a window seat! They offer pickup in town and will drive you through Grand Teton and/or Yellowstone National Park on an unforgettable adventure.
