The Advanced Tactical Pistol Class is a training course designed for experienced pistol shooters. The class will take place on September 27, 2025 in Jackson, Wyoming from 9am to 3pm, and will be taught by Instructor Dennis Larsen.
Dennis Larsen is a seasoned firearms instructor with over 37 years of experience. He has a passion for teaching proper firearms techniques while ensuring safety at all times. He has been involved in competition shooting for many years and has helped many others achieve their best. He has worked as a security contractor for the United States Federal Government, managing an armorer’s program and coaching Special Response Teams in tactical competitions, including a national level first-place win. He has been a “Master Class” competitor in USPSA matches since 1997.
Participants must have fired at least hundreds or preferably thousands of rounds in the 6 months prior to taking this class, as it is not suitable for beginners. To participate in this class, participants must bring the following items:
- A properly functioning semi-auto pistol
- A quality holster (not a shoulder holster or a cheapo floppy nylon kind like this.
- At least 2 extra magazines
- A magazine pouch that allows for drawing and replacing with one hand
- 500 rounds of ammunition
- Hearing protection (electronic preferred)
- Eye protection
This class will focus on intermediate and advanced handling, shooting and tactical skills and techniques for using a pistol in a defensive situation. Participants will have the opportunity to hone their skills and improve their proficiency with their firearm under the guidance of Instructor Dennis Larsen and his assistant instructor(s), who will provide feedback and instruction throughout the course.
