Benjamin Weiser’s Performance Pistol Fundamentals is a training course for experienced intermediate and advanced pistol shooters. The class will take place at the Jackson Hole Gun Club in Jackson, WY, on November from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required – no walk-ins. Benjamin Weiser and co-instructors from the Jackson Hole Shooting Experience will teach the course.
Performance Pistol Fundamentals addresses core elements of pistol shooting in dynamic environments. This course is designed for individuals seeking to enhance their pistol shooting ability for any purpose. Participants will engage in a range of shooting and gun handling exercises, with a strong emphasis on speed, accuracy, and movement. Students will leave with a clear understanding of pistol shooting within a straightforward and objective-based framework.
Participants must arrive with a strong understanding of safe firearm handling and the ability to work safely in a range environment with other shooters. It is recommended that students have shot at least hundreds, or preferably thousands of rounds in the last six months, as this course is not suitable for beginners.
We will plan to shoot a lot. A recommended round count is provided, but please bring more ammunition if you wish. If you want to shoot more, you will have the opportunity to do so, and you will almost certainly benefit from it.
You will need:
- A properly functioning semi-automatic pistol (red dot optics are strongly encouraged)
- A quality belt-mounted holster
- At least two extra magazines
- Magazine pouch(es) that allows for drawing and replacement with one hand
- 500 rounds of ammunition
- Hearing protection (electronic protection is strongly encouraged)
- Eye protection
- A sack lunch, water & snack
