In the world of shooting, the term “optics” includes telescopic sights, red dots and iron sights. We have kept the stock iron sights on some of our rifles for historical reasons and to demonstrate how challenging they can be. Most of our rifles though, have been upgraded with aftermarket Long Range Rifle Optics to make shooting more accurate and a good bit easier! We have tried a number of optics from different makers, both low and mid-quality.
A “cheap scope can cost as little as $50 and a high end scope $7,000! Most of ours are in the $200 to $3000 range. Almost all of our scopes have been purchased at full price, however we have negotiated a few “deals” and have accepted some through our Firearms Legacy Program.
When we discovered Vortex Optics, we were very impressed! Their quality is on par with Leupold, however their pricing is incredible! We have purchased MANY Vortex optics, and since then have received discounts from Vortex.

A trusted friend recently told us that he very much likes the Burris XTR II.

Our favorite “red dot” style optic is the AimPoint, which we currently have on the LWRC M6.
