Shepard’s Nomad Rifleman (NR) One-Day Private Extreme Long Range Shooting Training is offered at various private undeveloped ranches about 90 minutes from Jackson Hole Wyoming. Read about one of their private long range shooting experience in Forbes.
Every experience is customized as instructors learn your personalities and skills. The offerings in 2013 were the first couple of hours will be spent developing fundamental skills with a 22LR, a .223 Rem and a .308 Win. from 100 to 1,000 yards. Next, you will spend a couple of hours “plinking” with the 6.5 Creedmoor at targets between 500 yards and 1,800+ yards. Then we will take some shots with our 7mm Rem Magnum and our 300 Win Mag at targets out to 2,200 yards (1.25 miles). Next is a .338 Lapua and .375 Cheytac at 2 miles!
Much like golf instruction by Tiger Woods, a Hole in One is not guaranteed — though many of their clients do achieve 1 mile hits! Other times, the afternoon wind makes this feat eludes shooters! They shoot out to 2 miles in this long rage shooting experience session at targets as small as 1 MOA! Wyoming Private Extreme Long Range Shooting
Their Wyoming ranch locations are on undeveloped parcels of high desert sagebrush cattle grazing land. Nomad Rifleman shoots on the corners of large ranches owned by friends who want to share their slice of heaven on earth with you. You will often see their cows, wild antelope, hawks, eagles and waterfowl nearby.
Umbrellas provide shade as you take breaks and sit back in camping chairs to enjoy the snow capped Wind River Mountain range in the distance. A portable camping toilet is available for emergency “seating” needs.
