The Jackson Hole Shooting Sports Foundation is sponsoring this class.
Join us for an exciting afternoon of learning and competition! Our Youth Long-Range 22LR Workshop and Competition is designed for young shooting enthusiasts to hone their skills in precision shooting. Our experienced coaches will evaluate each student’s knowledge, ability, and comfort level to provide personalized guidance and support. The event includes a comprehensive safety briefing, hands-on instruction, and a friendly competition at the end.
In the past, we have had a wide variety of contestants, abilities, equipment, experience and parental coaching, and this year we are focusing on knowledge and skills, development. We will happily provide a loaner rifle at no extra charge!

Competition Details
The competition will be held at the end of the workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills out to 440 yards and can win exciting prizes.

Fun Safety Rules for Young Shooters!
- Point Your Gun the Right Way! Imagine your gun is a magic wand that should never point at anything you don’t want to make disappear. Keep it pointed somewhere safe, like the ground or downrange, to keep everyone smiling!
- Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger! Play it cool! Keep your finger away from the trigger until you’re super ready to shoot. It’s like waiting for the perfect moment to pop a balloon!
- Know What You’re Shooting At! Be a sharp-eyed explorer! Make sure you know what your target is and what’s behind it. This keeps you and everyone else safe and sound.
- Dress Like a Superhero! Wear your eye and ear protectors like superhero gear! They keep your eyes twinkling and ears listening to more fun adventures.
- Check Your Gear! Be a gear detective! Before you shoot, make sure your gun is in tip-top shape. This means more fun with no ouchies.
- Match the Ammo! Use the right ammo like you pick the right shoes for your feet. The perfect match makes shooting safe and super fun!
- Stay Clear-Headed! Keep your mind as clear as a sunny day! No drinks or yucky stuff that can make you feel woozy. This keeps your shooting game strong and safe.
- Unload When Not Shooting! Like putting your toys away, always unload your gun when you’re done. This is being responsible and safe, like a true shooting star!
- Look Around! Be a keen observer! Know what’s around you so you can shoot safely and have loads of fun without any worries.
- Listen to the Range Boss! The range officer is like your adventure guide. Follow their lead to keep your shooting journey safe and exciting!
