Verlin was born and raised in beautiful Colorado where he spent most of his childhood exploring the outdoors. His love for firearms started with a pellet rifle and an indoor range in the basement of his childhood home. Throughout his life, he was involved in training bird dogs which, in turn, fostered an obsession with the art of shotgunning. His exposure to different shooting sports was expanded even more so through his father, who was a firearms instructor for the Department of the Interior.
Verlin attended college at the University of Nebraska and obtained a B.S. in Environmental Science. He relocated to Bozeman, Montana after graduation to work for the USGS Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team as a trapper. This required federal firearms certifications and advanced firearms training. He is also a wildlife/ski guide in the region and has a passion for teaching and connecting others with the things he loves.
Verlin fell in love with the Jackson Hole area and specifically the town of Jackson. He started guiding as a way to share his love of the area with others and make Jackson his home. While he is not working, he is obsessively exploring the region in a quest to learn everything he can about the area that he believes is “the greatest place on Earth”.
Verlin is a certified Wilderness FIrst Responder and also works full time as a guide with Eco Tour Adventures in Jackson, Wyoming.
