Growing up a proud Coloradan and Westerner Mick’s affection for firearms began at a young age. Naturally, he progressed from small .22 rifles and 28 gauge shotguns, then moved to heavy machine guns and more intricate rifles while working in the U.S Marine Corps. Michael Cestia, also a Middle East Expert, enjoys shooting sports as a hobby and as a profession.
Mick’s years as a government soldier brought him to almost every corner of the earth from the jungles of Asia to the deserts of the Middle East. This included some Mountain Warfare training right here in his native Rocky Mountains.
Mick continues exploring international affairs with the University of Wyoming. He has had an interest in the middle east since his early teen years, and now provides consultation and studies conflict resolution strategies.
Michael believes that peace is not only possible, but also probable.
Shooting instruction
Most importantly to us, he is a fun and easy going coach with the Jackson Hole Shooting Experience! Come enjoy your day on the range with Mick and learn the basics of shooting or let him help you develop your “already in place” skill set. Mick’s personality is greatly appreciate, and fellow coaches joke that our Trip-Advisor page should change names to “Mick-Advisor.” (Everybody loves Mick’s professionalism, sense of fun and personality)
In 2021, Mick took over as the leader of our shotgun program, assisting in preparing the local gun club’s course for the year, handling equipment, policy development and of course his favorite; coaching.
